WHY ARE WE BUYING 1,500 CABBAGES?
This month we bought 1,500 cabbages and paid for trucks to bring in a massive amount of hay to feed wildlife along the Turgwe River in Zimbabwe where a regional drought, worsened by the El Nino weather phenomenon, has depleted water supplies and killed vast areas of vegetation. The UN has warned of the bleak outlook in this region and the catastrophic impact on all forms of life.
"I will not give in and somehow will do it," said a nervous Karen Paolillo who r...

Please Help Us Buy Fuel to Heat the Cottage
http://animalrescuechase.com/donate/operat ion-holiday-kitty
In a quiet village on a street dotted in antique, white cottages, one home is more "alive" than all the rest. You see, there are more than 100 cats at the residentially-based Felix Cat Shelter in the Vojvodina region of Serbia. Only problem is, the cats' caretaker Danica suffered a stroke and is no longer able to care for them.
From 125 miles awa...

LIONS RESCUED FROM ARMENIAN ZOO WILL TAKE FLIGHT SOON
Months ago, lions and bears were found starving in an Armenian zoo. A couple walking in the area heard the animals’ terrible sounds of suffering and they knew they had to find food....quickly. The couple is retired and they live modestly, but they camped nearby and fed the animals scraps from a nearby slaughterhouse. They also fished and foraged for food in a nearby forest. A sanctuary was found for the bears and they have been moved. A l...

SEE KITTENS SAVED FROM DUMPSTER 21st Sep 2016, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
RESCUERS AND MAMA CAT SAVE KITTENS FROM DUMPSTER
None of us understand how people can be cruel enough to abandon a litter of newborn kittens, but what's more important is what comes next. Second chances, after all, are our specialty.
When passers-by discovered a bag of kittens on the ground, they were shocked. But just at the right time, before they began to hurry off to find help, a hungry cry came from inside the nearby dumpster. This lone kitten had been thrown away separately from the othe...

TO DONATE: http://harmonyfund.org/donate
Norica Prigoana lives in a small apartment where several cats and dogs gather in the kitchen for breakfast. The day begins early because Norica has to go to work at the public dog pound in Gherla where she is the only one who will be sure the dogs get a chance to eat each day. She cleans the kennels and gives each soul a hug, apologizing that she can’t take them home with her.
Norica’s own shelter, know...

HE WAS JUST RESCUED. NOW HE NEEDS A NAME.
This dog was just rescued from a public pound in Sarajevo (seen here). He was being attacked by some of the other dogs in the kennel. He tried to defend himself, but he's a gentle boy. We need to come up with a very special name for this handsome fellow. Please give us your suggestions below.

CONSTRUCTION WORKER FLIRTS WITH DANGER, BUT HE'S ALL-HEART ON THE GROUND
Max Kahrimanovic lives in his hardhat. It’s covered in the dust of three continents where he programs wind turbines, often at a dangerous height. But some may say Max’s greatest accomplishments unfold in the far less intricate scenarios down on the ground where he feeds hungry, and often very thirsty, stray dogs. This is the story of how Max won the trust of one of those dogs and the remarkable new life she is now begi...

STOP OUTDOOR CATS FROM CATCHING BIRDS
Brightly colored cat collars can save the lives of songbirds.
According to a recent article in "The Atlantic", stray cats and pet cats allowed outdoors kill 3.6 million birds every day on average in the United States, for a total of at least 1.3 billion birds per year. But for those who let their cats roam outdoors, there is a way to significantly reduce the loss of wild birds.
Songbirds see bright colors especially well--even in low light. Their eyes in...
