Once upon a time there was a kind-hearted man who could not look away. He saw hungry dogs, in all sizes and colors and many people walking past them without a care at all. The dogs shivered. Their ribs etched lines in their fur. But only one man stopped to help. COMEDY SHOW DONATION THANKS TO CLEVER ANIMAL ADVOCATE
The animals recently received a donation from the most unlikely place. The comedy show "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" on HBO sent a $5,000 donation to help our animal rescue squads internationally to provide food for homeless animals.

This scene is in Houston, Texas where volunteer Sonya Franklin cares for hundreds of homeless dogs and cats. She is very active in having the animals spayed/neutered and brought into foster care.
