Meet Lego, a lovely lost pup who had to have one leg removed after being struck by a car. A veterinarian did her surgery for free and today Lego lives with her 'mom' Mary Dyck in B.C. Canada.
"Since her accident, she hasn't let anything slow her down," Mary explains. "She can hike, swim, jump, wrestle.. And run faster than most 4 legged dogs! For a dog that had such a rough start to her life, she's remarkably balanced and issue free. She ADORES children, and wiggles her bum in a mad fury when...

For all our local supporters in Central Massachusetts, you might like to attend this special craft fair. Proceeds from the raffle ticket sales (just $1 each) will benefit the Harmony Fund. The fair is generously organized by Charlene Stephens and family who are now caring for some of the feral cats we have relocated through Operation Christmas Kitty. This will be a great place to look for local artisan holiday gifts and to spend a beautiful day in the country with like-minded folks.

Lydia Petrova was dealt a rotten hand when her husband died and her sister-in-law sold the house leaving Lydia on the street with her dogs. And though the social service agency offered to place Lydia in a nursing home and a couple of acquaintances offered to let her stay with them, no one wanted to help the dogs. For Lydia, that was simply a deal breaker.
Lydia began living at the garbage dump near her former Ukrainian home in the city of Dnepropetrovsk. She could see the house, she even walk...

"One morning before class, I was reading the newspaper and drinking coffee at the main campus center. I heard some squeaking noises coming from a nearby corner, and noticed a tiny mouse stuck in a glue trap. The mouse was clearly struggling and frightened, and I couldn't let it suffer or die in the trap. I had never handled a trap (or a mouse) before, but I knew if I alterted anyone on campus, they'd just bring in a trash bag and 'dispose' of the mouse.
I immediately grabbed the trap, took it...

Operation Kitty Christmas Has Begun!
The Harmony Fund is rounding up feral cats who are living in perilous places or who are now inaccessible to volunteer feeders. This morning we have our first group at the veterinary clinic including Lucky Berry seen here in his humane trap. Lucky Berry survived the exterminator hired to kill all the cats where he lived.
Using a series of home-based barn sanctuaries, the cats will be enjoying their first warm Christmas. Now when they hear the wind howl...

Nigel is a feral cat who has been living on the grounds of a restaurant. Wait staff used to feed him and the others in the colony, but when the business closed, Harmony Fund volunteers swooped in to begin providing food, water, winter shelters and spay/neuter. We are now able to relocate the cats to a barn sanctuary where they will live an idyllic life in complete safety and comfort.
Little Nigel may have lost his tail, but he hasn't lost his appetite for wet food. Wish us luck as we trap h...

ANOTHER HAPPY ENDING! http://www.animalrescuechase.com/rescue_showcase/s tory.php?id=982
"It seemed like a regular day. We got up cleaned the kennels and had nearly finished when a guy came to our gate and told us that there was a dog chained up and starving. The dog was apparently relatively near to us. When we arrived we saw a shocking sight. The dog was starving and in a bad condition generally with bot flies embedded in his skin all over. He had a huge heavy chain around his neck, no food...

"I decided to bring my bike to work, and after work I whizzed along the busy street with traffic flying along on one side and a 10 foot wall on the other. A few little shrubs blocked the sidewalk from the roar of the commuting cars. I was day dreaming and cycling when my subconscious slowed me down. What WAS that I had just passed? Trash? discarded clothing? I stopped and went back.
There, crouched next to a small bush was a large fluffy cat. Every time the traffic slowed, she relaxed slight...
