Kita juga amat bertuah kerana selain menjadi daya tarikan pelancong, pantai - pantai kita juga merupakan kawasan pendaratan bagi 4 jenis spesies penyu yang ada di Malaysia sejak dahulu lagi. Do you know that incubation temperature of turtle eggs determines the sex of the hatchlings? Warmer temperature, i.e. above 30oC will produce more female hatchlings, while cooler temperature (below 28oC) produces more male hatchlings.

The olive ridley (Lepidochelys olivacea) is the smallest of all the sea turtles in Malaysia and gets its name from their olive green colour shell.
