Five Ways In Which Sharks And Rays Help Ecosystems, Other Species, And People. 6th Jul 2020, by WWF Malaysia
Diving with #sharks 🦈 and #rays contributes to our local economy. According to a scientific study done by the Australian Institute of Marine Science on sharks in Semporna, Sabah, the local business revenue that was attributed to shark diving in the region amounts to USD16.58 million.

Freshwater is one of the essentials that rainforests provide us. Rainforests help maintain the water cycle. When forest areas are reduced, the forest contributes less moisture to form clouds in the atmosphere causing decline in rainfall. The forest also acts as natural sponges releasing water slowly into streams and rivers, besides filtering sediments from entering these water bodies. Hence, keeping forest intact safeguards water availability and quality.
