After Realising That Animal-Based Foods Tend To Ha.. 31st May 2021, by WWF Malaysia
After realising that animal-based foods tend to have a higher footprint than plant-based, I decided to find ways to cut down my carbon footprint. And of course, my love for all animals has also encouraged me to explore this path.

I Try To Embrace Other Aspects Of Sustainability, .. 30th May 2021, by WWF Malaysia
I try to embrace other aspects of sustainability, such as buying loose fruits and vegetables that come without excess packaging or plastic wraps. This encourages me to bring my reusable bag whenever I do my groceries.
I also have more fun cooking now, exploring new plant-based recipes. I’m much more aware of my nutritional intake in general, and I feel more energized than ever. What I eat now gives me the continual spark of energy I need to not just ‘get through the day’ but to thrive.

With the International Day for Biological Diversity 22 May fresh in our minds, have you ever wondered what a ‘forest gardener’ would look like? Would you be surprised that ‘forest gardeners’ are actually elephants?
As the largest land mammals, they carry and disperse seeds far and wide as they travel from one area to another. This process helps spread new plants and regenerates trees in the forest.
We all need healthy forest ecosystems for clean air, fresh water, climate change mitiga...

One Of The Ways For Us To Protect The Animals And .. 23rd May 2021, by WWF Malaysia
One of the ways for us to protect the animals and their habitat is to stop littering.
.
We have seen many marine creatures swim in polluted water that is full of plastic and trash. These animals can get injured and sick living in such conditions. Other than not littering, we can also help clean up the polluted water.
.
If we can’t live with trash, neither can these animals.

Excessive Amounts Of Littering Will Lead To Pollut.. 23rd May 2021, by WWF Malaysia
Excessive amounts of littering will lead to pollution, and pollution can cause habitat loss for animals.
.
Pollution can affect the quality of water, air, and land and create harmful toxins. Some species of animals will evacuate their habitats because of the unusual change in their surroundings. They end up losing their life since they end up going to unsuitable locations.
.
If we can’t live without a roof over our heads, these animals can’t live without their habitats.

.
Bornean orang-utans play a vital role in seed dispersal and in maintaining the health of forests.
.
By saving orang-utans, we ensure a healthy forest ecosystem – and protecting our clean air, freshwater, and food supply.

Bornean Elephants Play A Crucial Role As Forest Ga.. 22nd May 2021, by WWF Malaysia
Bornean elephants play a crucial role as forest gardeners. As the largest land mammals, they carry and disperse seeds far and wide as they travel from one area to another.
This process helps spread new plants and regenerates trees in the forest. We all need healthy forest ecosystems for clean air, freshwater, climate change mitigation, soil stability and recreation.
Saving Bornean elephants means helping to protect forests and safeguarding our future.

Back In The 1950s, Malaysia Was Thought To Have 3,.. 22nd May 2021, by WWF Malaysia
Back in the 1950s, Malaysia was thought to have 3,000 wild tigers. Less than 200 now remain as a result of widespread poaching. The Malayan tiger is now officially listed as Critically Endangered, which means they are on the brink of extinction.
As an apex predator, Malayan tigers keep populations of prey species in check, which maintains the balance in the forest ecosystem. We need healthy forests for clean air and water for our agriculture, domestic use, and businesses, to name a few.
