On 21 September, a total of 80 painted terrapin hatchlings were released at the Setiu river.
The activity was organised by WWF-Malaysia and Setiu Women's Association (PEWANIS) and was carried out with students of Kampong Mangkok Primary School and local community members.

Zarinah Waheed from UMS will be collecting coral species diversity of 2 families which is Agaricidae sp. and Eupharidae sp. Together with Dr. Bert, they will also be looking into species diversity of mushroom coral.
Dr. Maria Beger from the University of Queensland collects data of coral reef fishes found in the proposed Tun Mustapha Park while Stefano Draisma from Universiti Malaya is collecting absence and presence data sets of seaweeds which are macroalgae.
