Unlike other terrestial apes which spend most of their lives on ground, orang-utans are strictly arboreal apes. This means that they spend almost all their lives in trees and highly dependant on them for their survival.

Since we began replanting trees to rehabilitate orang-utan habitats in the degraded forests in North Ulu Segama (NUS), Sabah, WWF-Malaysia's biologists have spotted orang-utans using these trees to build nests, travelling and for food since 2011! We hope to continue our efforts in restoring forests for orang-utans, but funds are running low.
