MALAYAN TIGERS ON THE BRINK
Back in the 1950s, Malaysia was thought to have around 3,000 tigers. Our best guess is that now only 250-340 remain, placing the Malayan Tiger as ‘Critically Endangered’ under the IUCN Red List for Threatened Species – meaning it faces an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild.

THE GLOBAL TIGER CRISIS
A hundred years ago, there were thought to be about 100,000 tigers roaming in the wild worldwide. By 2010 only about 3,200 tigers remained, equating to a shocking 97% decline. They only occupy around 7% of their historic range, and are currently only found in scattered parts of Asia and the Russian Far East.
In conjunction with Global Tiger Day, Maybank and WWF-Malaysia will be having an exhibition on tigers at the Terrace, Menara Maybank from 29 July – 12 August. Dr...
