Happy #WorldPangolinDay! Did you know that pangolins are the world's most illegally trafficked mammal? It's claimed to have medicinal properties but in reality, their scales are made of keratin, like our fingernails. Sabah has listed the pangolin under the “Totally Protected” category. This restricts hunting, collection or trade of the animal.

#DYK that dholes (wild dogs) can be found in our Malaysian forest? They exist in various parts of the Malaysian peninsular amongst tigers and leopards.
Unfortunately, these social animals are listed as Endangered under the IUCN Red List, as they are threatened by depletion of prey species, habitat loss and disease.
