Wetlands are often seen as wasted space to be paved or drained.
But healthy wetlands benefit us in so many ways. They provide us with water, irrigate rice paddies and other crops, support freshwater fisheries that feed tens of millions, help defend cities from floods, and provide a home for 40% of the world’s species. But these benefits are often undervalued - until they are lost.

Britain's Prince William told the London International Wildlife Trade conference that he couldn't face his children if his generation lets tigers, elephants and other species go extinct.
We also thank our new Minister of Water, Land and Natural Resources, Dr Xavier Jayakumar for pledging a new tiger reserve in Malaysia at the conference. We support this important undertaking.

This past week, the team in Sabah conducted a drone survey to assess the canopy of the planted trees and overall ground conditions at WWF-Malaysia’s reforestation site at Bukit Piton Class 1 Forest Reserve. Bukit Piton is home to Bornean orangutans and these planted trees are essential to their survival.

From 13 October 2018 to 24 November 2018, teachers will be trained how to educate their students about the importance of wildlife conservation using the Science Camp programme student kit. The illegal wildlife trade the 4th biggest illegal trade in the world, after drugs, counterfeiting and human trafficking. Nepal is doing its bit to #EndWildlifeCrime with a series of zero poaching wins.
The small Himalayan nation has shown us that eliminating poaching is actually possible. They achieved 365 days of Zero Poaching twice between 2011 and 2014. It's a hopeful example to the world.
