Can you see the Orangutan nest on top of a tree surrounded by oil palm? Recently, WWF-Malaysia's Sabah Orangutan team conducted recce surveys and interviewed oil palm plantation owners adjacent to the Bukit Piton, a Class 1 Forest Reserve, to understand and record orangutan's persistence in plantations.

Today our #Setiu #Freshwater team and @alphaunisza organised the 1km #plogging of a riverbank and a nesting beach for painted terrapins. They collected 656 kg of waste - more than half the weight of a Proton Saga!
Here's the breakdown of the waste collected today:
Plastic: 241.5 kg
Glass: 200.1 kg
Paper: 2.1 kg
Aluminium cans: 8.3 kg
Others: 204.9 kg

Setiu Wetlands is one of our project sites in Terengganu. Thanks to your support, the gazettement of the 432.4 hectares came into effect last May.
