Time is running out for pangolins. This spiny anteater is under threat from poaching, despite a total international trade ban.
Last weekend, Sabah police seized a record 30 tonnes of pangolin and pangolin products worth RM8.16 million from a processing facility.
It’s estimated that more than a million pangolins have been killed for their scales and meat in the last decade.
Populations of Asian pangolins have declined by 80% in the last decade, and traffickers are increasingly turning to A...

Who’s heard of this cute creature before? This anteater-like animal is a pangolin. They’re the world’s only truly scaly mammal.
But pangolins are also the most heavily trafficked wild mammal in the world, despite the fact that most people have never heard of them.
All eight species of pangolin are protected under national and international laws.

Did you know that 30% of emissions warming our planet comes from what WE do to our land? This includes agriculture, deforestation, illegal logging and reclamation.
The global trade in illegal timber is a multi-million dollar industry. This view is from a plane over East Kalimantan, Borneo. The clear pockets of land show deforestation. To tackle our climate crisis, we need to change the way we use our land.

We are deeply saddened by the discovery of a whale shark that washed ashore on Tanjung Aru beach, Sabah. It starved to death after swallowing a plastic bag. 😢
The plastic waste that humans do not think twice about using mostly end up in the ocean, impacting marine life.
Plastic in the ocean also turns into microplastic. Marine life consuming microplastic means that when we consume fish products, we too are consuming microplastic.
