Today is #WorldRainforestDay! Rainforests are vital to life on Earth. They absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, help stabilise the climate, are home to an incredible variety of plants and wildlife, and regulate rainfall across the globe.
But we’re losing rainforests at an unsustainable rate. Last year alone, an area of rainforest the size of Belgium was destroyed. Illegal logging, development and agriculture is pushing species like the jaguar to the brink of extinction.

Sabah In Talks With Indonesia Over Rhino Conservat.. 13th Jun 2019, by WWF Malaysia
Sabah State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew met Indonesia’s Kota Kinabalu consul-general head Krishna Djelani to discuss collaborative conservation programmes.
Liew, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, will visit Indonesia next month to pursue the details to find ways to breed their last rhino.

Singer With A Sunbear Pleads Not Guilty - Nation |.. 12th Jun 2019, by WWF Malaysia
Singer Zarith Sofia Mohd Yasin, 27 was charged this morning with illegal possession of a juvenile bear. We commend PERHILITAN for rescuing the sun bear and sending it to their veterinary officer for examination. This case will be investigated under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010.
We strongly urge all Malaysians to visit the ongoing online consultation at http://upc.mpc.gov.my and provide your feedback to strengthen the Wildlife Conservation Act by June 14.
