PLEASE DON’T BUY A DORY!
After the release of the 2003 animated movie Finding Nemo, there was a sudden increase in the purchase of fishes that were featured in the movie, especially clown fish. This led to many of these animals being bought on a whim, and later discarded.
Just last month, the movie Finding Dory was released in cinemas, and there has already an increase in demand for blue tangs (the species that “Dory” belongs to).
Here are some reasons to think twice before keeping blu...

HERE’S PROOF THAT WHEN YOU SPEAK UP FOR ANIMALS, CHANGE CAN HAPPEN.
Members of the public often feel that their individual voice isn’t enough to create change…But they couldn’t be more wrong! Whenever you share information about a cause, sign a petition, write an e-mail, or abstain from supporting an industry that you don’t think is ethical, your impact is felt – and can contribute to positive action, often on a large scale.

WITH YOUR HELP, MORE ANIMALS LIKE YOYO CAN BE SAVED
Yoyo, a long-tailed macaque, was hit by a car earlier this year. He underwent two weeks of intensive treatment and his vet bills came to SGD$1,669.18. Thankfully, he recovered, and was successfully released back into the wild!
Each year, we are called upon to help many wild animals in similar need, and we come across several animal cruelty issues that need addressing. Although we are making progress in ending animal cruelty (our ultimate goa...

MEET DESSERT, THE LEOPARD GECKO
Dessert, a leopard gecko, was found along with two other geckos at rubbish dump outside a fish farm. His two companions were very skinny and frail. All are victims of the illegal exotic pet trade and reckless abandonment by their owner/s.
The geckos had been left in a bag beside the bin, and thankfully a member of public found the bag and passed them to us.
Unfortunately, the two weaker geckos were in appalling physical condition and had very poor appetites. W...

SOLITARY MONKEYS IN SINGAPORE

Long- tailed macaque live in troops (groups) consisting mainly of females. Females usually remain in the troop that they are born into and have a rigid hierarchy, whilst males usually change troops. In a long- tailed macaque troop, males are dominant. The largest male is usual...
