ANIMAL CARE UPDATE 13 SEP 2016
Meet Andrea and Audrey, the giant Asian pond turtles rescued off the roads in Singapore – checking out their revamped enclosure together. We have given a little touch to their enclosure with the help of volunteers - by changing their tank set ups and enclosure layout. This will also serve as an environmental enrichment to both of them who appreciate privacy from care-givers (and also between themselves).
The revamp also included changes to our filtration syste...

They are easily identified by rows of blue spots along their body, cheeks and dorsal fins. They also have dark bands on their body, and large, mobile eyes on top of their head that bulge out. This species of mudskipper is territorial. In the wild, it is common to see them fight. ...

PLEASE DO NOT RELEASE RED-EARED SLIDERS!
Recently, we received a call for an injured turtle at a pond in Punggol. To our shock, we rescued a red-eared terrapin/slider (right) with his/her whole face bitten off by another turtle in the pond. The poor turtle had to be euthanised to end the suffering. We received another call the same weekend for another injured turtle from the same location. It was heart-breaking to receive another similarly injured red-eared terrapin/slider (left), who faced a ...

In addition, an equal number would be willing to pay 5 to 10 per cent more for pork products from pigs that have lived better lives.
