PYTHONS: SUCCUMB TO FEAR, OR LEARN TO CO-EXIST?
Commonly found in urban areas, pythons are highly misunderstood creatures who often become victims of aggression due to our fear.
This reticulated python was found dead upon rescue - just two days ago. We realised from the photos (taken by kind-hearted callers) that some residents at Boon Lay had used slotted angles to restrain the snake. We're thankful to the concerned callers, also residents there, for calling us, and to the police for removi...

SUPPORT OUR STAND AGAINST THE ILLEGAL PET TRADE – AFTERMATH OF THE NEE SOON PET FIESTA
Yesterday, we were speaking up at the Nee Soon Pet Fiesta, for the animals who have suffered the dire consequences of people’s impulsive pursuit of exotic pets.

NATIVE WILDLIFE AWARENESS: ONE STEP FORWARD
Town councils play a key role in property management. Often, they receive calls about urban encounters with wildlife. As part of our newly launched series of sharing sessions for property managers, we would like to thank Jalan Besar Town Council and Ang Mo Kio Town Council for having us, to share about urban wildlife and getting their help too to assess different scenarios!
If you work at a town council, and would like to hold a briefing for your pr...

WHY IS THE GREEN IGUANA NOT GREEN ANYMORE?!
Featured in this photo is Watney, the biggest green iguana in our care. Some male green iguanas will brighten up their colours during mating season, and may return back to duller shades after.
Please consider supporting the iguanas and other victims of the wildlife trade under our Wildlife Supporter Scheme - http://acres.org.sg/support-us-2/wss/

TWINKLE GETS REUNITED!
We very often get calls regarding baby birds who have fallen from their nests or get stranded while learning to fly. Twinkle, the starling chick was no different, she got stranded after falling out of her nest. Thanks to a kind resident who safely contained her, we were able to make a makeshift nest with recycled stuff and after some time, witnessed Twinkle's mom coming to feed her!

CO-EXIST NOT CULL
Are the birds in your neighbourhood singing their hearts out? Are macaques monkeying around in your estate? Culling in addition to being inhumane, results in other animals replacing the ones who are trapped and removed. Let’s learn to co-exist with our neighbours instead.
Take your first step by checking out and sharing our advisory sheets, and more action updates to come very soon from ACRES!

AMAZING PHOTO OF MALAYAN COLUGO TAKEN BY RESIDENT!
Last week, we shared about LIL-WON, the juvenile Malayan colugo. Tonight, we would like to share this amazing photo sent to us by Michael Soldner, a resident of a condominium in the Bukit Timah area. He managed to capture some breathtaking photos of a adult colugo gliding about with a baby hugging onto her. The urban background pretty much sums up our how wildlife are adapting and how we need to appreciate and co-exist with them! Our thanks to ...

LIL-WON THE JUVENILE MALAYAN COLUGO!
Lil-Won was found stranded by a member of public at Bukit Timah. Lil-Won was a juvenile Malayan colugo. However, she could grip onto a tree trunk and climb it. Very often, in urban Singapore, young/juvenile animals get lost or stranded. In such cases, the ACRES wildlife rescue team always places emphasis on reuniting these lost wild animals with their parents first. Usually, the adults will be around in the vicinity.
We were not sure how Lil-Won will react...
