With forests that are shrinking and fragmenting, these mammals are getting closer to us. And through observation from a distance, we would realise how similar we are to a monkey troop.
Just like us, long-tailed macaques comfort each other after a conflict to restore relationships. They have a variety of facial expressions f...

As the bittern season ends, the pitta season begins.
Like bitterns, stranded pittas may collide into hard surfaces and most often just need a quiet rest in a ventilated dark box, at room temperature, for a few hours to recover.
To help these birds and countless other wild animals in distress, please make a donation today: http://acres.org.sg/donate-now/

Argentina’s Vegan Mondays 5th Dec 2017, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
ONE STEP FORWARD.
THANK YOU, ARGENTINA!
“In a bid to start a debate on health and the national diet, it has instituted meat-free Mondays. For one lunch each week, the canteen (at Casa Rosada – tag “Casa Rosada”) will only serve vegan options to the 500-plus employees, including President Mauricio Macri.
Governments can do more than lead by example. Portugal passed a law this year requiring a vegan option at public institutions.”

A SECOND BITE OF THE B̶I̶S̶C̶U̶I̶T̶ APPLE
Biscuit, a Chinese soft-shelled turtle, had been attacked by another animal before he was found in a drain and promptly rescued by a kind member of public. Biscuit is on his road to recovery and will be provided a home at our wildlife rescue centre.
Non-native to Singapore, these turtles end up in our soups, and often released in the wild by the uninformed.
To sponsor Biscuit’s friends at ACRES, please consider becoming Wildlife Supporter: h...

HAPPY HOLIDAYS, AS IT SHOULD BE!
You can do your part as an animal-friendly tourist this holiday season by making conscious choices that do not involve cruelty to animals.
As World Animal Protection rightly puts it, "If you can ride, hug, or take a selfie with a wild animal, chances are the venue is cruel. Don’t go!"
Here are some tips, don’t forget to share!
