GOOD NEWS FOR SINGAPORE'S NATIVE WILDLIFE: LAW AMENDMENTS
Louis Ng will be proposing amendments to the Wild Animals and Birds Act and will be tabling a Private Member’s Bill in Parliament.
This is the principal piece of legislation that deals with the protection of wildlife outside Singapore’s nature reserves.
Please help speak up for these animals: Should we end feeding of wildlife island-wide? Should we ban sale of bird traps and glue traps? And many more that will help protect these a...

[APPEAL] A FIGHTING CHANCE TO LIVE
14 hours, 7 birds, 5 glue traps.
1 cobra, 10 hooks.
The list goes on; fishing nets, mist nets, tin cans- we have come across way too many species who fell victim to our negligence. All these animals ever wanted was to find for food but instead, ended up struggling to free themselves, to swallow, and in some cases, to breathe.
Just like us, animals can feel pain, discomfort, fear, and not to mention helplessness. If you winced in anger reading the latest news...

HOW DO YOU THINK MOCHA IS FEELING?
Mocha is one of our three canine companions who has her own ways of showing whether she is enjoying or disliking the moment.
Some of us may have stories of how our companion animals express themselves; they may be cheeky about it, stubborn; perhaps disappearing out of sight because “someone” unleashed the thunder for the second time this week!
What about other animals? Do we relate to them and their body language, especially those lacking in facial expre...

DOE, RAE, ME: LIVES ON THE LINE
In just four days, we rescued 4 red-eared terrapins with fishing hooks and its line lodged inside their mouths.
This averages up to at least 2 wild animals with fish hooks/line found every month by our Wildlife Rescue Team, and these hooks result in distress/injury or even death. The list includes equatorial spitting cobra, monitor lizards, turtles, otters, long-tailed macaques and birds such as herons, nightjar and eagles.
Doe, Rae, Me are currently undergoi...

THE NIGHTMARE OF GLUE TRAPS CONTINUES
7 birds in 14 hours from five locations, from mynahs and pigeons, to sparrows and orioles.
Absolutely heartbreaking because just like you and I, they can feel pain, discomfort, fear and not to mention helplessness. And it’s frustrating that this continues.
Can they be banned?
Yes, New Zealand has done it: https://tinyurl.com/y97k2noz)
Can the sales of glue traps be regulated?
Yes, Victoria state government has done it: https://tinyurl.com/y85jx8he
