猪福满满 Happy Prosperous New Year of the Pig, everyone! Kick off the lunar year by helping these not-so-little critters with simple, kind gestures. 1. Don't feed them! Remember oranges are only for humans, not for pigs. Don't feed wildlife. 2. Reduce your consumption. Better still, keep them off your plates! 3. Drive with caution in areas where wild pigs are commonly sighted to avoid accidents. From all of us at ACRES, we wish each and every one of you good health and lasting pros...

3rd Feb 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

"OWL BE BAACK" Broadway, the sunda scops owl, was found by a student just outside the campus of Nanyang Technological University. The owl was apparently in the same spot for two days looking weak and dehydrated. After being examined at the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre, it can be presumed that Broadway may have been previously kept as a pet or hand reared and then released. After a week of treatment, she is looking much much better now. With rehabilitation in the works, we hope to return Broad...

Acres Share Anticimex Singapore Concerns About Pub..
1st Feb 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

ACRES share Anticimex Singapore concerns about public safety and it is for that reason that wild animals need to be handled appropriately. Mishandling will endanger public safety, the safety of the workers handling the animals and also compromise animal welfare. If handled properly, there would not be a need to use excessive force or step on the animal and the animal handler would also not get injured. If there was a concern about public safety, the area should also have been properly cordoned...

Seth The Reticulated Python Was Out Hunting, And B..
21st Jan 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

Seth the reticulated python was out hunting, and being the opportunistic hunter that they are, he locked in on a stray cat, constricted the feline, and was ready to consume the carcass. At this point, he was attacked by a human who threw a drain cover on him. Seth sustained a minor fracture, but it would have hurt- just like any other fracture. And being a sentient being, he would have suffered. Many of you may find that Seth got what he deserved- especially when you think it could happen to yo...
