Trained as an educator, Edwina has been sowing the seeds of compassion to our youths of all ages, engaging children to think of compassionate choices at a very young age. And when little Arielle came in, Edwina continued her passion and dedication as our part-time executive, alongside Arielle who follows her to work on most days.

Seeing a bird fly again is really something!
It means that this bird has recovered she’s finally back on track with life. Some birds may have been trapped in a confined space and couldn’t find their way out; some wounded and couldn’t recover on their own. In other cases, a chick may have been separated from the family and needed fostering.

The wildlife team of 8, consisting of animal care givers, veterinarian and wildlife rescue officers, work hard to ensure the animals who come to and through the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre get the best they deserve.
Our Wildlife Rescue Centre, established as Singapore’s first facility dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of animals rescued from the illegal wildlife trade.

Since we activated our 24-hour wildlife rescue hotline for native wild animals in 2009, the rescue calls have increased exponentially by 450%, leading to a 300% increase of wildlife rescued by ACRES.
It sure isn't easy to operate island-wide on limited funds and resources. With an average monthly expenditure of $40,000 to run the 24/7 wildlife rescue and rehabilitation efforts, we need all the help we can get.
