Appeal For Information. Cruelty To Protected Nativ..
18th Jun 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

[APPEAL FOR INFORMATION] CRUELTY TO PROTECTED NATIVE WILDLIFE On 16th June 2019, our #wildliferescue team was alerted to a case of a found civet by the National Parks Board at Bedok. The member of public who reported this was kind enough to give us exact location with details. We were horrified to find a badly injured #Commonpalmcivet in a cage with some food, abandoned near the bin centre of 13A Bedok South Road. Unfortunately the poor civet had gone through so much, suffered severe inju...

Why The Chickens At Sin Ming Court Do Not Have To Cross The Road And Leave The Estate
18th Jun 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

THANK YOU RESIDENTS OF SIN MING COURT FOR CHOOSING COEXISTENCE! Sin_Ming Court RC The red junglefowl in a corner of Bishan can continue to be, well, as free as a bird thanks to residents of Sin Ming Court who overwhelmingly voted to not have them removed from the estate despite complaints of the noise caused by the free-roaming fowls. For the first time, it was residents, and not the authorities, who got to decide the fate of their fine-feathered friends. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapor...

1st Jun 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

[WILDLIFE RESCUE VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT] Our 24-hour wildlife rescue team comes across many cases of red-eared sliders who have been run over by vehicles or attacked by other animals as a result of being abandoned or released. In this case, this turtle, entangled in line, was found in a pond at Nanyang Technological University. It is illegal to release red-eared sliders in Singapore, but more importantly, it is extremely cruel to leave an animal in an unfamiliar environment where they may als...

Baby Tymms Eats Like A Boss
29th May 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

WORLD OTTER DAY You otter know… this clip is TWO full minutes of Baby Tymms eating with his mouthful–and out loud– but he’s still so lovable to watch! We dedicate this footage this World Otter Day to remind ourselves to be mindful of the space that these wild animals so graciously share with us. Baby Tymms is cute as buttons, but he is a wild animal who needs to get bigger, stronger and braver, and moving around with his pack, in the wild where he truly belongs. Like all animals, Baby...

23rd May 2019, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

WORLD TURTLE DAY 23 MAY It should be turtle world day really, them being one of the oldest reptile groups on planet Earth. Sad to say many turtles face threats from habitat loss, wildlife trade, poaching for eggs and consumption of meat. So, please can you pledge today - one thing to help turtles directly? Turtle soup remains to be a popular dish in Singapore, and only a small portion of this demand is met by wild-caught 20,000 Asiatic soft-shelled turtles from Indonesia to be imported ali...
