is pleased that justice has been served today. Mr. Tan Boon Kwee, the Director of ANA Contractor Pte Ltd (the company who messed up the construction of the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre) was sentenced to 2 weeks imprisonment and fined $65,000. We hope that this sends out a deterrent message and that nobody will need to go through what ACRES has gone through over the past 3 years. We now look forward to Mr. Tan clearing up all the contaminated earth at the rescue centre!

Unpublished Forum Letter: ACRES Campaigns Remains Factual
8th Sep 2011, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

I refer to last Sunday’s letter (28 Aug) “RWS responds to dolphin claims” by Krist Boo of Resorts World Sentosa. The letter contains inherent contradictions. ACRES has indeed stated that the RWS wild-caught dolphins will be used in a “pioneering interactive dolphin spa programme”, but we are clearly not sensationalising the issue and ACRES is unsure as to why this statement is inaccurate. We obtained the information from newspaper reports, as well as from RWS’ own website which sta...

Acres' executive director, Mr Louis Ng, told The Straits Times yesterday: "Resorts World Sentosa, as of today, has not responded to the people who have been posting on their Facebook page. "The people will not stop if the hotel continues to ignore us." He urged supporters to be "civil and polite" if they post any further comments.

"Mr. Louis Ng, said comments like these were unfortunate because he had called for the posts to be polite. But he vowed not to give up the campaign until the dolphins are released."

ACRES Accused Of 'Cyber Attack'
6th Sep 2011, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

Brand online intelligence company Brandtology said that most companies start an online fan page thinking that it is only for their fans. "But it is not something they can control once they open themselves to the world. Such blocking will only draw more negative attention," CEO Eddie Chau said.

A Note To All
5th Sep 2011, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

Resorts World has blocked quite a number of us from their FB page. When you post comments on their FB page now, only your FB friends can see your comments, the other 147,000 RWS FB fans cannot see your comments. The questions really are: Does Resorts World have something to hide?, Why won't they let their FB fans see our views and concerns? Please help to post comments on their recent posting.

Did you know? United Parcel Service (UPS), which transported the first shipment of RWS wild-caught dolphins from the Solomon Islands to The Philippines, said it would stop moving this kind of cargo, as the practice violated its environmental principles.

4th Sep 2011, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

Through our concerted effort to post comments on RWS FB page over the weekend, we have shown that they are not open to a dialogue about their plans to hold wild-caught dolphins captive. We have shown that they rather delete your comments or ignore them than to respond to your concerns. The questions now really are: Do you trust RWS? Do you trust a company that is not open to public feedback? Do you trust this for-profit company to look after the welfare of the remaining 25 wild-caught dolphins?

Feedback About Posting Comments On RWS FB Page
3rd Sep 2011, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

Hi all, thank you so much for your feedback. We hope that everyone will post comments on the RWS FB page and keep it polite. For the past few months and not only today, RWS has been deleting some comments and negative postings on their wall and keeping the positive ones which state how people are looking forward to see the dolphins at RWS. This sends a false message to the 147,000 RWS FB fans, that people are supportive of their plans to hold dolphins captive.  ACRES has tried every very bes...
