ACRES received some feedback with regard to the welfare of the polar bears at the Singapore Zoo. We had a fantastic meeting with the CEO and staff from the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) today during which we were brought to view the polar bears. The bears are currently housed in a smaller enclosure whilst their new and bigger enclosure is being built. From Hypnoia, the Paradise tree snake's journal: "It was late in the evening. I saw the beautiful lights - same colours as my spots. Red, green, yellow in a mesmerising order that made me stay the whole night there watching in trance, until I got spotted in the morning. They said I was lost, but soon I was home." PS: They were written in 'ssss...' code, which was later translated. Can you spot Hypnoia's head?

This morning the little ones at Little Skool House By-The-Lake learned all about endangered animals and why wild animals are not pets, through our HEAL Humane Education programme for kindergartens. Our thanks to the children for being such an enthusiastic audience and to the teachers for inviting us. Thank you also to all the mums and dads for your generous donations!

The Reapers
If mankind, so scared of death, that we even imagine and create an icon for it, the Death Reaper, why then, do they not understand, that when mankind murder animals, directly or indirectly. We are being Death Reapers ourselves.
What rights do we have, to kill animals for pleasure and profit? Intelligence? Did intelligence give us the rights?
