Pillaging The Solomons 9th Dec 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Resorts World Sentosa's (RWS) acquisition of 27 wild-caught dolphins from the Solomon Islands between 2008 and 2009 contributed to the depletion of this species there. A recent scientific report confirms that previous captures of Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops aduncus) from the Solomon Islands were unsustainable and therefore that the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna (CITES) was not complied with.

Rescue Adventures For December Week 1! 7th Dec 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Jack and Jill, two reticulated pythons, were lounging in the afternoon warmth a few metres apart by a deep drain. While ACRES does not relocate animals in their natural habitats, these two were in the way of grass cutting plans.

Timeline Photos 7th Dec 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Resorts World have still refused to comment about whether they are going ahead with the fireworks this evening. Here's what a paper published in the "International Journal of Comparative Psychology" states
"Responses of marine mammals to noise can often be subtle and barely detectable, and there are many documented cases of apparent tolerance of noise. However, marine mammals showing no obvious avoidance or changes in activities may still suffer important, even lethal, consequences.”

Turkey Time 6th Dec 2012, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Christmas is just around the corner! Why not spare the turkeys this Christmas, and in the spirit of peace and goodwill to all, have a Veggie meal instead?
Turkeys are beautiful, intelligent, sensitive, playful, sentient beings. When not forced to live on filthy factory farms, naturally turkeys spend their days caring for their young, building nests, foraging for food, taking dust baths, preening themselves, and roosting high in trees. They are naturally curious, always checking out new sights a...

Will you be speaking up for the dolphins tomorrow?
Tomorrow at 6pm at Speakers’ Corner, please join us at the Candlelight Vigil and Memorial Service for Wen Wen and the other dolphins who have died. Why do we need you to be there?
