People need to be aware that tens of thousands of civets are being kept in these conditions. It would put people off their coffee if they knew." ☁☁ Animal Trivia ☁☁ This week we take a look at a lesser known native animal in Singapore, the common palm civet! Donation Appeal: Wildlife Rescue Van Being on the road for approximately 10 hours every day, it’s not surprising our wildlife rescue van needs a little bit of TLC sometimes. Right now, the van is out of action and needs major repairs, which will cost thousands of dollars - money we simply do not have to spare. So far this year, the rescue team has helped more than 250 animals all over Singapore, and we just wouldn’t be able to do this without the van being in tip-top condition. P...

Be animal conscious: Don’t use glue traps! Glue traps spell a death sentence for any animal who becomes caught in their sticky grasp. And it’s inevitably a cruel, slow death. So, please don’t use them! One animal who had a lucky escape from a glue trap was Sniffer the plantain squirrel. Poor Sniffer became trapped on a glue board that had been set up to trap him in an office and, seeing his suffering, the office staff realised it was a mistake and called ACRES for help. It took 3 rou...
