A juvenile Sparrow Hawk even got to enjoy a brand new aviary enclosure as her new home during their short time here! From all of us here at ACRES, we sincerely thank you for your ded...

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting a team of 5 members from SanDisk who had come to ACRES to learn all about wildlife issues, and to see first-hand the work that we do at the AWRC.
After the corporate presentation that was held for them in our Education Centre, they were then given a tour of the Rescue Centre.
Once they had seen all the work that is carried out by the staff at ACRES, the SanDisk staff and their kids were then generous enough to volunteer some of their Saturday afte...

This week's at ACRES Laos Wildlife Sanctuary, the rescue of 28 Elephant Trunk Snakes!
28 Elephant Trunk Snakes were being illegally smuggled from Thailand to Laos, likely destined to become someone's dinner or to be kept as illegal pets. Thankfully, the Laos government officials confiscated them at the Lao-Thailand border and contacted ACRES Lao PDR. Unfortunately, we are unable to release them back into the wild here as they are non-native to Laos. Being aquatic snakes, most were suffering fro...

Hawksbill Turtle Release 23rd Aug 2013, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)
Here’s a short clip featuring an animal you may see in Singapore- if you’re lucky! It’s an endangered hawksbill turtle hatchling.
Yesterday afternoon, this little fellow was found looking very lost on a grass patch at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal- maybe not far from the sea for us, but a dangerously long way from the sea for such a small animal. We think he’d probably got disorientated after hatching from his shell and, instead of heading towards the ocean, he’d wandered inland, and w...

Their project aims to reduce the consumption of sharks fin soup in Singapore by encouraging young Chinese couples who are about to tie the knot not to include sharks fin soup in their wedding banquet menu. Check out one of their brilliant postcard designs (pictured)! These postcards are being given to couples to place on ...
