We are honoured to be invited to Canadian International School's Exhibition last week. The showcased project on animals in captivity and living together with macaques was aided by ACRES, and indeed reflected their 8 weeks of efforts and hard work.

Heavy rain has been falling all over the island the past two days.Prior to this refreshing change of weather however, was Singapore's record long dry spell. The hot and dry weather had been wrecking havoc on our flora causing much of our plants and grass to be parched. The unbearable heat also forced all our animals to seek shelter, only to come out in the late afternoon as the sun begins to set.

Suzzie is a few steps closer to be released back home! She is due for her final surgery tomorrow. Her x-ray shows positive results of bone and skin regeneration. The Farmers’ Market is held from 9am to 2pm at The Pantry at Loewen Gardens (near Dempsey). The main idea behind the Farmers’ Market is to capture a piece of home – the simple pleasure of people chatting about food and being passionate about produce. This week, we present you a sneak-peek at the new enclosure set up for Midori, one of our Green iguanas. A few years ago, he was rescued from an industrial area, with stomach ulcers resulting from razor blades in his stomach. 8 March 2014 - It was a rough Saturday for the Macaque Rescue Team. It was mid-afternoon and the Bukit Batok Nature Reserve Macaques were making their way back into the forest for their afternoon nap. They took turns crossing the road but a female carrying 2 babies lost her life while trying to make her way back. The pigeon featured here is the Common Pigeon, or Rock Pigeon. It is an extremely misunderstood animal in Singapore, and are considered by most to be pests. Here at ACRES, we do receive calls regarding injured birds from time to time, and will try our best to help them.

From the 10th to the 21st of March 2014, ACRES is proud to have 3 students from the German European School Singapore come and work with us. These students will be completing a two-week long work attachment with us, to learn about working with animals and how ACRES operates.
We are delighted that there are students out there who are so keen to learn more about the work that we do, and how important it is. Have fun guys! We are sure the animals appreciate all that you do for them!!
