Over the last month, the animal care team at ACRES started to revamp our snake enclosures. These includes the construction of the snake shed which we covered a few weeks back and even plans to possibly expand Venilla(our Albino Burmese python’s ) enclosure in the future. ACRES has seen many dedicated interns come and go....and Giovannie Verstraten is no different. Giovanni joined ACRES as an intern from HAS University of Applied Sciences back in January 2014. He spent the last five months dedicating his time to study our Indian Star tortoises. Did you know that Sugar Gliders are also known as Sugar Bears because of the way they stand up to make loud noises to intimidate predators? Sugar Gliders are also illegal to be kept in Singapore. A lot of the conflicts that occur between humans and macaques is due to the lack of awareness in reading them and knowing how to behave among them.
