Over the last month, the animal care team at ACRES started to revamp our snake enclosures. These includes the construction of the snake shed which we covered a few weeks back and even plans to possibly expand Venilla(our Albino Burmese python’s ) enclosure in the future.

ACRES has seen many dedicated interns come and go....and Giovannie Verstraten is no different. Giovanni joined ACRES as an intern from HAS University of Applied Sciences back in January 2014.
He spent the last five months dedicating his time to study our Indian Star tortoises. He has also helped us tremendously by taking good care of our outdoor sanctuary and its inhabitants over the last five months.He has now finished his internship and will leave Singapore to go back to the Netherlands.

Its Monday! Did you yawn yourself to work or school this morning?

Resorts World who purchased 27 wild-caught dolphins, 4 of whom have now died under their "care" is asking you whether "you been helping or harming the ocean unknowingly?". Resorts World is also urging you to "Leave sea wildlife alone".

A lot of the conflicts that occur between humans and macaques is due to the lack of awareness in reading them and knowing how to behave among them. Macaques use facial expressions to ‘talk’ to each other and to humans. For the next few weeks, the Macaque Team will bring you through a guide to the different Macaque facial expressions.
