Learning survival skills is crucial for young macaques. Mothers are instinctively very protective of their youngs and it is advisable to keep a respectable distance from them especially if you want to take pictures.

This week, we will share with you guys about Marcos and Carlos, our Cuban sliders (Trachemys decussata). They are closely related to Red-ear sliders whom we discussed about 2 weeks ago. Cuban sliders are native to Cuba and have been introduced to many places in the region. They are also traded in the illegal wildlife trade. Interestingly, Red-ear sliders (Trachemys scripta) are believed to be interbreeding with Cuban sliders.
Marcos was found by members of public when he was attacked by a dog....

Alpha male macaques play various important roles in their family.
Besides the need to display strength and power to safeguard their family in times of danger and harm, have you ever witnessed how gentle and caring they are with the young ones?
Here's screenshots of a young male macaque who stays very close to his dad. He spends his days learning survival skills from him and also indulge in friendly wrestling matches, together with the rest of the younger members in the family.

Presenting the first ever ACRES ladies running team! Led by Sabrina, who is from the Macaque Campaigns Team, the ladies race to the finishing line with so much grace and pride as they don on the bib, all in conjunction with our Flag Day happening now!

2 groups of runners ran today in support of ACRES flag day taking place tomorrow.
While 22 teachers from ITE West raced to the finishing line at the Orange Ribbon Run this morning, Chua Meng Kiat is still battling to reach the finishing line at the Sabah TMBT race.
We are extremely grateful for the amazing spirit shown by these runners. Tomorrow, we have 5 ladies who will be running to raise funds for the animals at the Shape Run.

Our 'ENDING ANIMAL CRUELTY' campaign will be coming island wide to you tomorrow
