Our huge custom-made fibreglass tanks have arrived. These huge 3m by 1.5 m tanks are for our Soft-shelled turtles. To try and keep them together without territorial disputes, we had to ensure that they will have a large space to live in. The next step would be to put the tanks together and build the surrounding areas for our turtles to bask and have a nice habitat to live in. This is where we will need your help on Decembers ACRES volunteer day!!

Its 5 more days to Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore! #forACRES As Singapore’s wild animals have increasingly less and less space to live in with increased urbanization, many find themselves having to live near to human habitations. Wild animals frequently find themselves stuck in people’s homes, or trapped on busy roads, often getting injured along the way. And this can happen any time, night or day. That’s why ACRES runs our wildlife rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,...

George who lives in the Bukit Batok Nature Park with his signature pose. He was running his hand on the crown of his head after a series of 'wrestling' with the younger macaques in the troop. It is always nice to welcome humor as we go along in our daily mission to protect the animals. And through George, let us remember that each animal is an individual. Macaques are highly intelligent animals. And what makes a family is a combination of different unique characters.

This week, ACRES was graced by an enthusiastic bunch of individuals from the Singapore Boys Home. Not only did they get to learn about our work, they also spent a few hours helping us paint our new night-dens for the sanctuary. The boys also put their creative thinking skills to use by helping us figure out solutions to some issues we were still facing with our night-dens. Our many thanks to them and their teacher, Mr Patrick and we hope they will come back to volunteer with us again.
