Tell Airlines to Stop Transporting Cetaceans to Marine Parks
There is growing recognition of the role airlines play in permitting the captive cetacean industry to continue and of the severe stress cetaceans suffer from during hours of restricted confinement during air transportation.
Every year, hundreds of wild-caught cetaceans are flown by plane to marine parks around the world.
However, as a result of mounting public opposition to the capture of cetaceans in infamous ‘dolphin hunts’ su...

"To some, her existence meant nothing.
However to one old lady, this little hen's existence means the entire world of love to her."
"It is Veggie Thursdays once again everyone!" And lunch seems like the best way to start off going meat free for, one day only to a start and easy change in your diet.
Psst, this one day can make a big difference to many farm animals often suffering en route to slaughter, you know?

Over at ACRES Lao PDR...
With the next group of volunteers from ACRES Singapore arriving later this week, we have been deciding what projects to do.
Since the fantastic upgrade of the Asiatic black bear enclosure a few months ago, the next stage is to provide the bears with water pools in which to play and cool down, especially as we are now coming into the dry/hot season.
So, within 2 weeks they will have paddling pools to bathe in and splash around in!
Photos will be posted as we progress....

Today, we had our wonderful student volunteers from NPS International school help us re-plant our Kangkong plants in our pots. We always have had problems of weeds growing and taking over, so this time we put a black sheet to prevent weeds from growing out. The students also helped us to clean the place. These pots of Kangkong will allow volunteers to pluck fresh home-grown Kangkong to make dietary enrichments to many of our turtles like our Giant asian pond turtles and Pig-nosed turtles who lov...

Raise your hands if you have seen, how animals show compassion and empathy to one another.
"Because the greatest feeling in this world is when your presence or absence is felt and noticed by someone"
Let us learn to take only what we really need and most importantly practice altruism and learn how to give unselfishly too! For animals, be it farm, reptiles, fishes, strays or wildlife just like Pickles and Lola for example, featured in our previous post below :)
