"I come in peace" The art of balance - Bobby is a young male who lives in the Bukit Batok Nature Park with his family. Due to his inquisitive nature, he spends most of his time following and learning from the adult males in his family. He is usually spotted on the highest point of a tree. Long-tailed macaques are primarily arboreal and can leap distances between trees up to five meters, using their long tails for balance. They move quadrupedally through the canopy and spend some amount of time...

Its 3 more days to Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore! #forACRES Snaps, the reticulated python was rescued from the front of a house after being threatened to be chopped to pieces and stepped upon while he was peacefully snoozing behind a flower pot. The British Club Magazine in Singapore was offering discounted tickets for members to visit the dolphin enclosure at Resorts World Sentosa and both Oscar (age 11) and Ella (13 years old) took exception to this! Thinking that the British Club's decision to run this advertisement was based on ignorance, Oscar wrote to the General Manager explaining the cruelty of such treatment of animals, in this case, wild catch dolphins and their on-going torture having to entertain the audiences. The Gene...

Our huge custom-made fibreglass tanks have arrived. These huge 3m by 1.5 m tanks are for our Soft-shelled turtles. To try and keep them together without territorial disputes, we had to ensure that they will have a large space to live in. The next step would be to put the tanks together and build the surrounding areas for our turtles to bask and have a nice habitat to live in. This is where we will need your help on Decembers ACRES volunteer day!!

Its 5 more days to Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore! #forACRES As Singapore’s wild animals have increasingly less and less space to live in with increased urbanization, many find themselves having to live near to human habitations. Wild animals frequently find themselves stuck in people’s homes, or trapped on busy roads, often getting injured along the way. And this can happen any time, night or day. That’s why ACRES runs our wildlife rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year,...
