Recently, there has been frequent sightings of a family of 4 Banded leaf monkeys in Lower Peirce Nature Reserves.
Research findings point to significant milestones as the Banded leaf monkey is one of only three species of non-human primates native to Singapore. Rare, elusive and threatened by habitat loss, this species is critically endangered. It is part of Singapore’s natural heritage and has the potential of becoming a flagship species for conservation efforts.

The next time you visit the Nature reserves, pay very special attention to what you hear and see! The ACRES Macaque Team were greeted by a family of 4 Banded leaf monkeys in Lower Peirce Nature Reserves.
Although the Banded leaf monkey is globally listed as vulnerable, it is one of the rarest mammals in Singapore where it was first described in 1838.

In 2015, all efforts from running events by the ACRES Wildlife Warrior will go towards Saving the Monkeys of Singapore. Runners from all walks of life will be pounding the pavements and dedicating miles to fund-raise and raise awareness on the plight of these monkeys. These highly misunderstood Long-tailed macaques are in urgent need for help before its too late. Native to Singapore's wildlife, they are the only prominent primate species here followed by the elusive Banded leaf langurs.

The first Sunday of 2015, and we are going to start showering our donors & volunteers with the ACRES love!

ACRES has a new Humane Education for All Life (HEAL) programme, specially designed to support the current MOE (Ministry of Education) curriculum for primary schools, to further educate young children to care for and help animals. We have also managed to revamp our outdoor sanctuary to accommodate more of our rescued animals from the illegal wildlife trade. Raising awareness on our rescue work has been progressing through our rescue videos on Facebook and by talking to members of public when we are at a rescue scene.
