On 28 February 2015, we visited Anderson Primary School’s Green Activists group (G.A.I.A.) who had raised a total of $583.15 for the animal welfare cause.
We are as thankful for their kind donations, as we are for their dynamism and alignment with the animal welfare cause. The budding animal lovers were delighted to learn how they, as future changemakers, can make a difference to the animal community. Way to go, our young stalwarts!
The SPCA hopes that by going out to schools and educating ...

Appeal for Adopter: MOGGIE's still looking!
MOGGIE (see videoclip) still waits patiently for his forever family! A cream/white male around three years, Moggie is without a front right limb and has a malformed left hind leg (possibly due to a congenital condition).
We’re hoping a caring and committed family will be able to provide this extraordinary kitty cutie, a future to look forward to (preferably in a home where he will be the only cat).
Regardless of his circumstances, his passion for ...

Weekly Edu-tip: Pet fur causing asthma? Not necessarily so!
Many people have been under the impression that pet fur is the cause of asthma. However, many times, it has been the case that the allergens in our environment are the trigger factors in those already diagnosed with asthma. (Potential allergens include pollution, dust, pollen, dust mites and pet dander.)
If you do suspect that pet fur is what triggers your attack, you should seek out a physician to conduct proper allergy tests to ...

Fostering an animal can be a wonderful bonding experience for you and your family. The rewards are intangible, as you would be actually saving a life and making a difference.
Recently, we have seen more ready volunteers (18 years and above) sign up with us, to foster suitable animals. (SPCA staff, too, have been fostering very young animals, all this while.)
Introduced to help us save lives, fostering is a way of providing individual attention and accommodation for animals too young to be k...

QUINTUS the cat, happily ever after!
Quintus, as a kitten, started on his adoption journey, one fine day at SPCA, with a curl around Pierre-Emmanuel’s neck the very minute his cage was opened.
The next thing he knew, he became adopted into Pierre-Emmanuel’s family, and about four years later today, has not looked back since. This cat has gone places literally, from Singapore to Europe and now India!
Our sincere thanks again to Pierre-Emmanuel and Hamid, for giving this cutie a loving hom...

Weekly Edu-Tip: Weaning very young animals
Kittens or puppies which have lost their mother and are too young to eat solid foods, have to be fed milk from a bottle every three to four hours. You can purchase a specialised milk power for animals, as well as suitable milk bottles or droppers from any pet store.
Do ensure the milk is slightly warm, but not too hot. You will need to hold the young animal by the scruff of its neck, upright, whilst putting the syringe/bottle into its mouth.
