Wells (see videoclip) is a sweet 4-year-old, tan/white cross-breed, looking for his home sweet HDB home!
https://goo.gl/2wfjHS
This bubbly boy is one of our dogs adoptable under Project ADORE, as he's not more than 15kg in weight nor taller than 50cm in height. He would also appeal to HDB flat owners, by virtue of his suitably sweet and calm temperament.
Wells and his fellow Project ADORE-eligible canines, are all featured on the first 2-3 pages of SPCA's online adoption gallery: http://www....

Found, then Fostered and… Adopted!
MOCHA, the Cross-Breed Cutie
Mocha, a brown/tan cross-breed puppy, was brought to our shelter a year ago, on 12 April 2014, shortly after being found (possibly abandoned) at Defu Lane, with her 5 siblings, all in a box filled with dirty, murky water. Easily also the runt of the litter, and merely less than three weeks old then, Mocha was not yet ready for adoption.
A kind fosterer, in the form of Mr Rashwinder Singh, stepped forward, offering to nurse Moc...

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has recently named animal cruelty as a “top-tier crime” in the US. Prosecution for animal cruelty, in the US, will be given more priority and those convicted will face harsher sentencing. Just last month, a California man was jailed for a year and ordered to undergo anger management counseling, for beating his pet poodle to death. He was also put on “four years' probation and barred from owning, living with or caring for any animal for 10 years". ...

An update on Chihuahua Pedro! His foster-turned-adoptive family has shared that Pedro is still himself, only better, and coping well (bonding with 2 cats in the home!). Thanks, AnneMarie Timmer-Chua and family, for giving Pedro a forever home he's never known!
And some things just don't change - see how Pedro still fusses over his possessions (a trait he has displayed when in our shelter's care).
What a sweetie !

Just last week (on 28 May), we went to the rescue of a community cat seen perched on the 3rd floor ledge of a residential block at Yunnan Crescent. Our rescuers, YaoHuang and Eswaran, helped to haul the cat from the ledge inwards and into a carrier using a catchpole. The cat, a ear-tipped grey-white tabby, and found to be alright and unharmed, was released safely on the ground floor shortly before getting reunited with its companion community cat in the premises.
Our thanks to caller Ms Hui Yi...

Just last evening (Thurs, 28 May), we went to the rescue of a mynah reported to be in distress, somewhere in the MOE Dairy Farm Adventure Centre at Dairy Farm Road. Our rescuer YaoHuang arrived at the scene to find the mynah entangled, in what seemed to be a kite string, and suspended upside down.
Yaohuang, using a ladder to reach the bird, cut away the string restricting the bird from its freedom of flight. It then promptly took to the skies again, after that.
Our thanks to caller Jacquelin...

Pet cats are best kept indoors, contrary to possible misconceptions!
Cat owners, keep your tabbies bright-eyed and bushy tailed, and make their indoor world purr-fectly safe and happy, by simply making the home feline-friendly.
Pamper your kitties with interactive toys, climbing towers and scratching posts. Indoor felines are also kept safe from getting lost, road accidents or even becoming victims of abuse.
So, mesh up or even grille up your windows and doors to keep your kitties out of ha...

KONG Cares Singapore paid our shelter a visit last Saturday (May 23), and donated KONG interactive toys for our dogs. Our cats were not forgotten either, with the thoughtful donation of cat toys too.
It looks like our Kaiser (pictured here) has already gotten a head start on the fun and play, made only better by KONG Cares Singapore whom we thank for their kind donations-in-kind.

Why Do Cats Come To The Bathroom With You? 24th May 2015, by SPCA Singapore
There have been many schools of thought as to why our pet cats typically saunter to the bathroom with us. One theory is that cats, as "creatures of habit", enjoy being a part of daily routine behaviour, which certainly includes their pet parents' visiting the bathroom.
Need the purrrr-fect, lifelong bathroom companion for your home? Come meet our loving and sweet, kitty kuties at our shelter, if you're ready for the long-term commitment: http://www.spca.org.sg/services.asp?cat=2
