DID YOU KNOW THAT HAMSTERS ARE SOLITARY ANIMALS AND PROLIFIC BREEDERS?
The gestation period for hamsters is between 16 and 23 days and they have large litters; around four to seven babies at a time.
Therefore, keep only one hamster in a cage.

DONATE YOUR OLD NEWSPAPERS, PLEASE
When you’re done with your newspapers, you usually throw them away or recycle them, right?
You could help animals at our shelter by bringing your old newspapers down to SPCA at 50 Sungei Tengah Road, Singapore 699012 and depositing them with our Reception.
Newspapers are used to line the bottom of enclosures and play areas. As they get soiled quickly, newspapers are in constant demand at our shelter.

HOW YOU CAN HELP US RAISE FUNDS AND AWARENESS IN YOUR SCHOOL
The students of Chong Boon Secondary School came up with an ingenious way to raise funds for us. They set up a Song Dedication booth in their school and collected money from people dedicating songs to their near and dear ones.
The event became more meaningful with the pledge session, where teachers and students wrote their pledge against cruelty to animals.

TRAINING, WELFARE AND ETHICS WORKSHOP
Dr Kang Nee, a scientist, ethologist and a certified professional dog trainer from Cheerful Dogs, conducted a workshop entitled "Training, Welfare & Ethics" for our staff and volunteers in mid May 2016.

The feeders of the wild boars have good intentions and may not have been aware of the consequences of feeding them and making them reliant on humans for food.

APPEAL FOR INFORMATION
On Sunday, 19 June morning, we responded to a case of a white cat that was found badly injured and bleeding from its mouth at the void deck of Block 889, Tampines Street 81.
Our Animal Rescue Officer arrived at the scene shortly after but unfortunately the cat had already passed on.
