VIDEO CIRCULATING: DOG HIT BY TRAINER
The SPCA has been alerted to a video surfacing online that shows several trainers taking a group of dogs on a pack walk. One of the trainers is seen hitting the side of a dog’s muzzle with his hand. The training provider has since issued a statement to say that “the dog was displaying redirected aggression due to its reactivity towards another passing dog” and “corrective measures are necessary to prevent escalation and ensure safety”.

Ryoka came into the SPCA at just 2 months old in November 2023 -- her nails were overgrown and she had infected, crusty skin. Shortly after, she tested positive for mange (skin disease caused by parasitic mites), ringworm, and parvovirus which can be fatal in kittens. Through daily antifungal treatments, medicated baths, and a prescription diet to treat her parvo-related diarrhoea, she has transformed into an alert and playful kitty, with significant improvements in her health.

The SPCA, alongside Little Hammy Rescue Singapore and Hamster Society Singapore, attended to a hoarding situation and rescued 48 hamsters. We are looking for fosterers (aged 21 and above) to care for these Syrian hamsters. The SPCA has taken in 24 of these hamsters, mostly the ones requiring some medical attention or have old injuries. This means that we are beyond our capacity, and will not be able to take in any other emergency cases until space is freed up. We need your help!

CCTV footage showed the helper's appalling actions towards Boy, including brutal hits and hanging him from the balcony railing. Regrettably, Boy has passed away. Hisoka came to the SPCA in September 2023. His muscle tremors were so severe that he was unable to stand or walk properly. An X-ray scan revealed the startling contents of Hisoka’s stomach - small bones possibly belonging to dead animals that he might have ingested while living on the streets.
