ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT - ARIEL
This is Ariel, a local male black kitten, who was brought to the SPCA in October as the finder noticed that Ariel was unlike other kittens – he was seen dragging himself most of the time.
Ariel was then seen by our consultant veterinarian who observed that his hind legs were weak and splayed. A special bandaging technique was applied, to correct his gait. He was monitored a week later and his stance seemed to improve.

CAT WITH HEAD STUCK IN A CONTAINER
On 11 December at about 10 pm, we received a call on our 24-hour hotline 6287 5355 ext 9, alerting us to a cat with its head stuck in a plastic container. The cat was in distress and ran away when we attempted to approach it.
As this rescue mission required more resources, we activated two rescue officers and brought along additional rescue equipment.

It is not unusual to discover unattended kittens and puppies seemingly left behind by their mothers. Most of the time,their mother has left in search of food or water and will come back to tend to her young.
