We received a call last week from an observant individual about a kitten that was found in a canal at Jurong West Street 61. Being alone and lost, the wandering kitten was naturally frightened.
Our Animal Rescue Officers arrived at the scene and assessed the situation to help the little one. As the canal was quite deep, our officers attached a long pole to our rescue net. All's well that ends well, the kitten was brought up to safety and away from danger. The...

We were recently alerted to a community cat stuck in a tree next to a HDB block at Telok Blangah Drive. The curious and adventurous cat had easily climbed the six storey high tree but was extremely nervous about the trip down.

SINGAPORE'S ANIMAL PROTECTION MOVEMENT
The SPCA responded to a forum letter which misrepresented Singapore's animal protection movement.
"While the SPCA wholeheartedly agrees that the movement should be responsible in its activism, and not "harass or intimidate" others as it goes about raising the standards of animal welfare, the claims made in the letter do a disservice to the many good people who advocate better treatment of animals in our society."
