5th Feb 2018, by SPCA Singapore

DOG ON LEASH, MIND AT EASE Did you know that unleashing your dog in a public place can put him/her at risk? That’s because dogs love to run around and explore their surroundings. While getting caught up in the action, they might end up in an unknown territory, separated from their owners. By leashing your dog, you can limit the distance and constantly know your dog’s whereabouts, stopping him/her from running into harm’s way. Also, it is illegal to not leash your dog in public. But if y...

1st Feb 2018, by SPCA Singapore

MISSION: BIG CANAL, LITTLE KITTEN We received a call last week from an observant individual about a kitten that was found in a canal at Jurong West Street 61. Being alone and lost, the wandering kitten was naturally frightened. Our Animal Rescue Officers arrived at the scene and assessed the situation to help the little one. As the canal was quite deep, our officers attached a long pole to our rescue net. All's well that ends well, the kitten was brought up to safety and away from danger. The...

AFTER FIVE YEARS AND FIVE MONTHS - HAPPY NEWS! In January 2012, a dog was tied to a railing for hours with no food, no water and no human companion in sight. A concerned member of the public contacted us and we brought the dog back to the SPCA. All means to contact the dog’s owner failed and it appeared, sadly, that the dog was abandoned. The team at SPCA went about preparing the dog, later named Happy, for adoption. He was examined by a veterinarian, underwent sterilisation surgery, vaccin...

Claims Misrepresent Singapore's Animal Protection ..
22nd Jan 2018, by SPCA Singapore

SINGAPORE'S ANIMAL PROTECTION MOVEMENT The SPCA responded to a forum letter which misrepresented Singapore's animal protection movement. "While the SPCA wholeheartedly agrees that the movement should be responsible in its activism, and not "harass or intimidate" others as it goes about raising the standards of animal welfare, the claims made in the letter do a disservice to the many good people who advocate better treatment of animals in our society." You can read the letter here - http://ww...
