19th Sep 2018, by SPCA Singapore

FOSTER FEATURE: GLUE TRAP KITTEN On 24 August 2018, SPCA received a call from a kind member of public who found a sickly-looking kitten in Woodlands. Our Animal Rescue Officer brought the kitten back to SPCA for further examination and treatment. The kitten was only about one month old, and most probably got himself stuck in a glue trap as his fur was extremely sticky. Two Is Not Better Than One. Hamsters Make Great Pe..
17th Sep 2018, by SPCA Singapore

TWO IS NOT BETTER THAN ONE! Hamsters make great pets, but having more than one in the same cage is one too many. As our shelter constantly receives unwanted hamsters due to overbreeding, we urge for owners to please separate your hamsters. You should only keep one per cage as they are solitary animals and are happy to be alone. A...

10th Sep 2018, by SPCA Singapore

I AM A SMART RABBIT! Did you know that rabbits can be litter-trained? Being intelligent animals, rabbits will naturally choose one or a few spots or corners to relieve themselves. To litter-train your rabbit, you will first need to limit the area where your rabbit roams. Identify the spot where your rabbit usually relieves itself and place the litter box there. You can use more than one litter box to train your rabbit. If your rabbit urinates out of the box, do move it to the area until it ge...

27th Aug 2018, by SPCA Singapore

CATS LIKE TO MOVE IT, MOVE IT To keep your pets healthy, you have to ensure they get a sufficient amount of exercise every day. But how do you let your cat exercise? It is recommended you engage your cat for 10 to 15 minutes several times a day. To awaken your cat’s natural instinct for play, you can utilise pet toys such as battery-operated mice, feathered toys, a simple strand of string, or even a DIY ball made with a toilet roll. HYDRATION IS KEY We live on a sunny island and in light of the recent heat wave, with temperatures hitting a high of 35 degrees, the last thing we want is for our pets to suffer a heatstroke.
