MIKA, DOUBLE FRACTURE 💥
Found crying and unable to move, Mika was rescued to #SPCASingapore. With fractures on both her right hind leg and left hind kneecap, she was only able to crawl with her front limbs.
Surgical repair was done at SPCA's Community Animal Clinic, and she was able to bear weight on both legs. With strict cage rest after surgery, she was able to stand soon after!
Mika is now an affectionate soul who will approach you for pats and cuddles. Despite what she has been through...

Friendsforlife. I May Run Around The House At 3am,.. 5th Jun 2021, by SPCA Singapore
#FRIENDSFORLIFE
I may run around the house at 3am, chew on your sofa, and knock displays off your shelf. But I will also wait for you at the door, comfort you if you cry, take the blame when you fart, and be with you for life. No matter how small I am, you’re my biggest family.
A pet is a lifetime commitment that requires plenty of time and effort. #SPCASingapore strongly advocates against giving pets as gifts. As the novelty wears off, some animals may be abandoned or neglected. Being kind...

EVERY DAY AT SPCA
Did you know? In 1947, after the Japanese occupation, #SPCASingapore (then known as RSPCA) was revived by an Englishwoman, Miss Lucia Bach, who ran a boarding house and took in unwanted street animals left behind.
We are there for the animals through rain or shine. Our services are still running in Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) — 24/7 emergency rescues, cruelty/welfare investigations, shelter care and clinic treatments, nationwide sterilisation programmes (TNRM), and more.

Effects Of Mercy Feeding/releasing. Feeding Or Rel.. 26th May 2021, by SPCA Singapore
EFFECTS OF MERCY FEEDING/RELEASING
Feeding or releasing wildlife causes more harm than good; many released animals also do not survive. For wildlife, food is a scarce resource. When humans interfere in their ecosystem and food resource, this upsets the equilibrium and causes a variety of problems.
Feeding and releasing of wildlife (excluding community cats and dogs) is illegal across Singapore.

ANG MO KIO RESIDENTS — YOUR URGENT ASSISTANCE IS REQUIRED
A spate of disturbing recent cases in Ang Mo Kio has seen numerous cats found with deep linear slash-type wounds on their bodies. We are urgently appealing for any information on these cases. We are also seeking the assistance of residents in the vicinity of the cases (around blocks 302, 316B, 335, 337, 343, and 346 in Ang Mo Kio) to keep a look out for suspicious persons and to help watch over the cats where possible. As you do so, pl...

HAPPY TALES: JOYA
Hola, I’m Joya. 16 years ago, my furmily brought me home from #SPCASingapore, thinking I was sweet and reserved, only to find out I am a toy shredder. Full of energy, I followed my furmily on countless adventures. I visited beaches and grasslands when I lived in Beijing for three years but I don’t like snow. I am a #SunnySingapore dog. 🌞
Although I’m old and nap a lot now, I still get excited when my furmily brings me for short, slow walks. Thank you all for the lif...

Appeal For Critical Care Fosterers. Spcasingapore .. 12th May 2021, by SPCA Singapore
APPEAL FOR CRITICAL CARE FOSTERERS
#SPCASingapore is appealing for fosterers who are willing to provide medical/critical care for animals. These shelter animals would need your love and care for about one to three months on average, depending on their needs. Necessary items, training and guidance will be provided.
A home environment will help them recuperate better with less stress, and free up space for us to treat more patients. It would be better if you have no other furkids at home but pl...

LONG-TAILED MACAQUE BEHAVIOUR
With the recent surge of reported human-wildlife interactions, the need to understand our wild neighbours has become even more essential. Animals exhibit behaviours to communicate their feelings but humans are often not equipped to understand them. 🙉
In this etiquette cheat sheet, take a look at common behaviours exhibited by long-tailed macaques. In the same way we learn to live with the quirky habits of our human neighbours, we should extend our graciousness ...

SPCA RESCUES: TAKASHIMAYA CAT
This cat was found stranded on the 2nd floor of Takashimaya Mall on a Wednesday morning. Being relatively skittish and nervous, no one could coax her out of her rather dangerous hiding spot. SPCA was contacted, and our Animal Rescue Officer managed to secure her unscathed!
Although still shy, she is now safe and undergoing medical checks at SPCA’s Community Animal Clinic.
P.s. She’s earned the title ‘escape artist’, but our team is on close watch! 👀

World Veterinary Day. Spcasingapore Runs Singapore.. 27th Apr 2021, by SPCA Singapore
WORLD VETERINARY DAY
#SPCASingapore runs Singapore’s only non-profit community animal clinic, and this would not be possible without our lean veterinary team (locum and full-time). In 2020 alone, SPCA performed a total of 2050 surgeries—ranging from 6 to 20 surgeries a day. Sometimes, they even bring critical care cases home to provide them with round-the-clock care.
Currently, there is a worldwide shortage of vets. Among medical professionals, suicide rates among vets are also some of the...

Happy Tales Trixie. Ive Been With Dad For Over 15 .. 23rd Apr 2021, by SPCA Singapore
HAPPY TALES: TRIXIE
I’ve been with dad for over 15 years. People say I look like I can “die of happiness” whenever he comes home. But back then, it wasn’t love at first sight for either of us. He found me scruffy with a crooked jaw, and I was very aloof. Still, he never gave up and fussed over me with yummy food and affection. After one week of warming up to his bribes, I became clingy forever.
They say I’ve been keeping dad’s blood pressure down. My trick is bringing him on wal...

Life At Spca Socialising Puppies. At Spca, We Have.. 21st Apr 2021, by SPCA Singapore
LIFE AT SPCA: SOCIALISING PUPPIES 🐶
At SPCA, we have more animals than humans for colleagues! To help nervous puppies get adoption-ready, we may socialise them in the office. The pups get to experience new places, people, sights, smells, and sounds — they even get to walk with harnesses. But, of course, fun time involves constant cleaning of poop and pee.
Every pup progresses differently but most effectively in a loving home environment. With limited resources, we rely on fosterers to so...
