Rubber bands, hair bands, hair ties, strings, ties, etc., can cause cuts in skins of animals when it is too tight. The foreign object can also harbor bacteria and increase the risk for infection in the wound.

Found wandering around Jurong West Central, a feeder contacted SPCA as this boi (Hisoka) was not one of the community cats from around the estate. #SPCASingapore received a call from a worried member of public regarding an injured “cat but not a cat?”. It turned out to be a drenched (from heavy rain) Civet wandering around a Clementi void deck! While the SPCA generally does not handle wildlife, our animal rescue officers provided a helping hand by transporting the Civet to the good people at ACRES: Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (Singapore).
