KEEP CALM. DO NOT ABANDON YOUR PETS
Hong Kong’s decision to cull hamsters after 11 of them tested positive to the COVID-19 virus has caused some anxiety among some pet guardians.
The SPCA has been closely monitoring developments while keeping up to date with information from health authorities such as the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE), World Health Organisation (WHO) and our local Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS).
The primary mode of transmission of the virus remains human t...

Wobbly Cat Is Seeking A Foster Family 19th Jan 2022, by SPCA Singapore
WOBBLY CAT
SEEKING A FOSTER FAMILY
Wobbly was found at a void deck of Jurong West, and as her name suggests, she was unable to walk and was instead wobbling around unsteadily with a tilted head. #SPCASingapore was called, and her caller waited with her till SPCA arrived. A check with our vets at SPCA Community Animal Clinic showed that she had head tremors, head tilt (to her left), and dirty yeasty ears with inflamed ear canals.
Despite her condition, Wobbly is not giving up! She calls to any...

FEO AND BIG BOY (BENJI)
TNRM Stories
HELLO! My name is BIG BOY aka Benji. I am the dog, and this is Feo the hooman. I first met Feo in 2019 while he was around my turf (I am alpha doggo!) in 2019. He is part of the TNRM (Trap-Neuter-Release-Management) team who helped sterilized my pack and I before releasing us back to where we were. Naturally with me being the biggest and goodest boi, Feo fell in love with me and I became the “most awesome dog he ever met!”. *Proud*
Hooman Feo kept comi...

With the help of SPCA Community Animal Clinic, Kuromi had her paw amputated. She went home with a staff under our Medical Care Foster - which included keeping her wounds dry and ensuring she minimizes her mov...

I Am Not A Gift. But You Can Bring Cheer To Me Thi.. 24th Dec 2021, by SPCA Singapore
I AM NOT A GIFT
But you can bring cheer to me this Christmas.
I am cute, loveable, snuggly, and warm - I may seem like the perfect gift... until I am not. I am not a gift, but a commitment for life.
This Christmas, if you're looking at surprising someone with an animal, the SPCA strongly advocates against giving pets as gift.
During the festive season, impulse purchases of pets often increases resulting in animals being surrendered, abandoned, or mistreated once the novelty wears out. It is i...

REMEMBER TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH
Periodontal Disease
Jacob, a 15 year old gentleman, was surrendered to the SPCA because his previous owner was leaving the country. He came to us with a gnarly set of teeth.
Diagnosed with dire periodontal disease by our #SPCASingapore clinic, his prognosis included gum infection, severe dental tartar, and exposed tooth roots. This is caused by a build-up of plaque/tartar on teeth, and can oftentimes lead to serious health problems. At-home dental care alongside re...

OLD IS GOLD
Adopt a Senior Pet month may be coming to an end, but our love for these fur aunties, uncles, grandmas, and grandpas should never stop! ヾ(=`ω´=)ノ”
#SPCASingapore was invited to decorate a tree at the Botanic Gardens as part of the annual Trees of the World display organised by NParks. Many older animals are often passed over by potential adopters when they actually still have lots of love to give. Love holds no age limit. Families may even find themselves accustomed better ...
