4 October - Happy World Animal Day, everyone! World Animal Day was started in 1931 in Florence. It is intended as a day of celebration for anyone in the world who cares about animals and is not restricted to any nationality, creed, religion, political belief or ideology.

What a lovely Monday it turned out to be. Four student representatives from Sec 2E4 of Tampines Secondary paid a visit to the SPCA along with their super supportive teacher, Ms Shareena. They had raised $113 selling tidbits as well as held a successful pet food donation drive in their school. They came with tons of pet food : ) A big thank you to the class for their thoughtfulness and kindness to animals.

Pet Care Tip:
A running wheel is a huge part of a hamster’s life. In the wild, these little fellas run constantly. A hamster that doesn’t have the opportunity to run in a domestic situation, will definitely be at a loss both in terms of physical and mental health. Imagine being cooped up in a cage all day long. So if your hamster does not have a running wheel, please do get one for it. Your hamster will love you for it : )
