This poor community cat was caught on a glue-board trap placed by a pest control company overnight at a HDB bin centre. The cat in these photos was dying by the time it was brought to the SPCA. She was in deep distress and panting heavily. Our duty veterinarian made the decision to humanely euthanase the cat to prevent further suffering. The board trap was about 4 feet by 5 feet in size and the amount of glue on the board was excessive. The cat never stood a chance. SPCA has previously appe...

Pet Care Tip: If you live in a high-rise apartment, the most important thing to do is to wire-mesh your windows to keep your cats safe. Cats can squeeze through surprisingly small spaces so make sure your grills or wire-mesh is less than 2 inches wide. As responsible cat owners, we should keep our cats safe and sound by keeping them strictly indoors. *Please share this all your wall.

We had four little visitors from Henry Park Primary this afternoon. We had visited the school to create awareness and Tiarra, Lyn, Eurica and Clara were so inspired that they decided to pay us a visit. They bought posters and picked up pet care leaflets on how to take care of pets. Thank you so much for coming little ones. Keep that love for animals in your hearts always.

Fosterer Urgently Needed: This is Winter. Her owners wanted to surrender her to the SPCA because she has scabies. We suggested they treat Winter's affliction instead and even provided the medication. Sadly, after just one week, they gave up and left Winter to us. So we're now urgently looking for someone to foster her so we can put her up for adoption. This Schnauzer is about 5 years old and also very timid. So extra gentle handling necessary. SPCA will provide all the medication necessary. This...

I am currently working in Melina Beach Resort, between the villages of Genting and Paya on the west coast of the island. We have a rapidly growing population of feral cats on the island. Disease seems to be widespread and we have observed many weak and mangy kittens around. The cat population is also devastating the local i...

This morning, SPCA received a call of a cat sitting on a ledge at the 11th floor of Blk 760 in a housing board estate in the North. We immediately left for the scene and on arrival at the unit, we saw a black cat meowing in distress and sitting precariously on the ledge. Our Animal Rescue Officers managed to locate the owner with the help of a community cat feeder. It was a dangerous rescue but our staff remained calm and brought the cat to safety.
