By a stroke of piggy fate, 12 guinea pigs landed on our laps (well they were surrendered but same difference)! This here is Willow, an 8mo Abyssinian female. Isn't she a peach? The SPCA was notified by the police on the night of 14 June that a terrapin had been thrown or fallen from Block 212 Jurong East St. 21. The animal died shortly after. You are invited to the launch party for MONGREL - THE PHOTO EXHIBITION on 4 July 2012, 7:30pm, at Objectifs Centre for Photography and Film at 56A Arab Street. The prints are also for sale and will go towards benefiting many shelters and animal welfare groups in Singapore, including SPCA. One of the photographers, Teo Keng Beng, has pledged to forward all the proceeds from the sale of his photos to SPCA.

We have another Project ADORE candidate! Pretty, perfect Paisley! She is a 1.5yo pooch after your own heart with wonderful charisma but not noisy at all. Her toilet preference is grass so twice-daily walks are even more a must for Paisley.

Really, we want photos of your pet(s) in a natural setting – at home, beach, cafe, park, office, yard, etc. Selected photos could appear in our 2013 Diaries, Calenders, and other SPCA Merchandise.
The competition is open to all, professional and amateur photographers alike. All that’s needed is an eye for photography and exploring how your pet(s) relate to the natural world.

On 16 Jan we referred a case of illegal online selling of hedgehogs to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (following a staff member's report). SPCA would like to thank AVA for investigating and taking action in this case. A man was prosecuted and fined $5,200 by the Court on 20 March, for having a total of 13 hedgehogs in his possession.

Inspectorate: Pigeon pierced with metal rod
The SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person/s responsible for seriously injuring a pigeon (pictured) with a metal rod which was found pierced through its chest. A member of the public reported the case at Axis Condominium (basement car park) in Mandalay Road on Saturday 25 May at 9p.m.

14 cadets from the St. John Ambulance Brigade (Yishun Secondary School) came to visit the SPCA today. They were here to learn about the SPCA and how they can help animals!
The cadets also bought SPCA merchandise which they are proudly displaying in the photo, in support of the SPCA and our animal welfare cause!
