What a treat it was to bump into Rod Monterio and Andre Hoeden from The Married Men - 91.3 at the SPH Charity Carnival. They were great with the kittens we brought for the event, who were also little stars in themselves. Thanks guys for being totally awesome : ) Thank you to SPH as well for inviting us to this fun-filled event. We got to create a lot of awareness.

Adoption Spotlight 2nd Aug 2012, by SPCA Singapore
Normally Mini Schnauzers get snapped up before you can say Bingo is his name-o, which is why we don't spotlight them. But Tikki here's been up for adoption for ages (weeks)! At 8 years old, he's past middle-age for his breed but we say that makes him all the more desirable! He doesn't bark excessively or jump up on everything that moves. He's easy-going and just look at that scruffy face! He's HDB-approved and just look at his face! How can anyone resist him?!
Check out all our pooches on http:...

Adoption Spotlight 31st Jul 2012, by SPCA Singapore
Sweet and lovely Tic Tac has not had it easy at all. Her first owner gave her up because she does what all cats like doing - climbing cabinets. Her second owner couldn't even be bothered to surrender her to us properly but left her on our doorstep and rushed off without a backward glance. Despite such rude rejections, this 2.5yo girl has retained her affectionate kitty nature. Only those who will give Tic Tac a forever home need apply. No more wishy-washy owners please!
Need to know more about ...

SPCA, AVA: Stop Killing Stray Dogs! 20th Jul 2012, by SPCA Singapore
Dear all, the following petition has been brought to our attention. It appears that it has been borne out of misguided opinions that SPCA has anything to do with the killing of stray dogs whether in the Gardens by the Bay incident or any other area.
As a rule, SPCA does not round up healthy stray dogs or cats. Our position has always been, and will always be, that sterilisation is the only viable method of population control of stray animals. We have stated clearly and irrevocably, time and ti...

Adoption Spotlight 20th Jul 2012, by SPCA Singapore
Becky has been spotlighted before but just goes to show just how understated this easy-going sweetheart is that she is still being overlooked!! Maybe it's to do with the fact that she's middle-aged for a cat at 6yo and not an attention seeker. But to us, those are all part of her charms. Let her warm the cockles of your home for the rest of her kitty days!
Need to know about our adoption fees and procedure? Head over to http://www.spca.org.sg/adoptioninfo.html. See you soon!

Have you ever felt a cat’s tongue before? Is it wet and slippery like a dog’s? Does it feel smooth? In fact, it is quite the opposite. A cat’s tongue is rough to touch and it feels almost like sandpaper.
A cat’s tongue has various functions. Like most tongues, it is used for guiding food into the mouth and throat, assist in chewing and swallowing of food. It is also very flexible and serves as a ladle for lapping water and other liquids into the mouth when a cat drinks.
One very ...
