Adoption Spotlight 15th Nov 2012, by SPCA Singapore
One-year-old April was abandoned with 6 kittens in a cage outside the SPCA gate late one night. The person did not even have the decency to let our staff know that the cats were there. Luckily we discovered them soon after and now all of them, including April here are up for adoption! April is a gentle, shy but affectionate girl with a kooky kink in her tail.
Come down to the SPCA to adopt April or any other of our animals waiting for homes! Details on our operating hours can be found here http...

Sophie is the epitome of an independent, low-maintenance cat. She doesn't hanker for affection but wouldn't mind being petted now and then. She'll happily do her own thing all day long. If you can give her that warm, safe home without expecting too much from her, come on down!
To find out our shelter's operating hours go to http://www.spca.org.sg/hours.html. We're open on Sundays and public holidays too!

Adoption Spotlight 2nd Nov 2012, by SPCA Singapore
Several months ago, National Parks Board approached SPCA to help with the stray dog population living in Ang Mo Kio Town Garden West. This was following feedback from residents in the area. (From left) Amelia, Penelope and Ella were very timid when they arrived at the SPCA. Our Animal Care Officers worked hard to acclimatise them. They spent weeks in our offices, getting used to having people around. With daily walks and time spent with volunteers and staff, they've slowly become less fearful. T...

These two little guys are both over 10 years, with moderate cataract in both eyes and bad teeth. Dundi is a cross Maltese and Roy is a miniature pinscher. They are both friendly with other dogs and people. If anyone is interested in taking them in, please come down to the SPCA during office hours (8am-5pm) any day of the week and inquire at reception (and not at the adoption shelter)! Thank you!
As with Bingo, phone reservations will not be accepted.

Dear All,
Over the past week, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has been receiving feedback following the news report of the case of the lost dog being put down. I have personally gone through all the feedback, including those online.
The SPCA would like to send our sincere apologies to Irene and her family, and everyone else who has been affected by this extremely upsetting incident. I have spoken at length with Irene personally to convey our apology and sympathies...

Bingo is a 12yo cross-breed whose owner said was rejected by another animal welfare organisation and was directed to surrender her to SPCA. Bingo was adopted from the same organisation. Apart from a moderate skin condition and the usual arthritis that comes with old age, Bingo is very friendly. If anyone is interested in taking her in, please come to the SPCA asap! Inquire at reception, not at the adoption shelter.
Please note, phone "reservations" will not be entertained. Thank you!

Adoption Spotlight 23rd Oct 2012, by SPCA Singapore
What do I see? Lots of animals looking for love. In my 7 years on the street, I managed to keep my nose clean and my (rather big) belly full. Then one day I got into an accident and my tail got a bit banged up. So someone called the SPCA, they came, took me in, patched me up and though I'm kinda old for a cat, they thought I was so lovely, they decided to keep me and find me a permanent home. So here I am waiting for my special human to come along. Even if you aren't the one, please help me by t...

Today we received news that the Animals Asia Foundation (AAF) bear rescue centre in Vietnam is being evicted. We first featured the dedicated work of Jill Robinson (MBE) and her team in our SPCA Bulletin Jan-Feb 2002. Their first rescue centre was set up in Chengdu, China. The latest eviction notice from the authorities in Vietnam will have serious consequences for the 104 rescued bears, all victims of the torturous bear bile trade. Please show your support by helping support AAF's appeal to the...

Do you have a paddling pool that you do not need anymore?
The past couple of days have been pretty hot and our dogs at the SPCA have been feeling it too.
To help them cool off as well as have a little fun at the same time, we would be grateful if you have a paddling pool that you would like to donate, to email shelter@spca.org.sg
Please note that that the inflatable kind will not be suitable. It has to be made up of plastic. Thank you so much : )
