Dogs do not instinctively know what we want them to do. They don’t intentionally do things to make us upset (on the contrary, they love to please us).
Be a responsible pet owner and put in the effort to train your dog (and even more so, yourself on how to behave around an animal). Don’t assume that your dog already knows what to do! Set aside time and tons of patience to train them yourself or attend professional training classes with them regularly. Most importantly, make sure you remembe...

With the right introduction, dogs and cats can sometimes get along! If you have just adopted a puppy, keep your puppy on a leash and ensure that he/she is calm and not too excited. Then, allow your cat to approach the newcomer at its own time. Do not force them to interact! If you see that any of your animals is uncomfortable or cowering away, end the interaction, and start all over again the next day. You could even swop your animals’ personal belongings to help them get used to another anima...

Adoption Spotlight 5th Feb 2013, by SPCA Singapore
Gorgeous yolk had a blonde moment and somehow got herself wedged into the engine compartment of a car! She was rescued by the driver and passed on to us for treatment. We patched her up (literally) and though she has some battle scars, which are already fading, she's recovered her extremely lovely nature and will bring much joy to any cat-loving household. If you think you're the right one for this 4-year-old seal point darling, come down asap!
Check out our brand new adoption galleries on our ...

“Animals don't behave like men,' he said. 'If they have to fight, they fight; and if they have to kill they kill. But they don't sit down and set their wits to work to devise ways of spoiling other creatures' lives and hurting them. They have dignity and animality.” (Richard Adams, Watership Down)

Inspectorate 2013 Cases 24th Jan 2013, by SPCA Singapore
We recently attended a case of 5 sparrows stuck on a glue board trap meant for rats at an office building on Henderson Rd. Although the trap was meant for rats and inconspicuously placed under a fridge, the sparrows were still able to get stuck on it. One of them was dead at scene. We tried our best to save the remaining four, but as more than 3/4 of their small bodies were covered in glue, very sadly, we were unable to.
The board was placed by a licensed pest control company hired by the build...

Adoption Spotlight 15th Jan 2013, by SPCA Singapore
This happy pooch is Valli, a 2-year-old mutt full of love and energy. He's such a sweetheart, he gets along with just about everybody, but will need lots of exercise and playtime to satisfy his active nature. Though we know anyone with a willing heart would be a great owner, Valli is sadly, not HDB-approved. If you or someone you know could give Valli his forever home, don't waste another moment!
Info about our adoption process can be found here http://www.spca.org.sg/adoptioninfo.html.

A dead kitten suspected of abuse was found at the carpark of Blk 16 Eunos Crescent on Sunday 6 Jan AM. The SPCA and AVA were alerted to this by Cat Welfare Society (CWS)and member of public after a police report was made. CWS had then brought the body to SPCA for a preliminary vet examination. It strongly suggests abuse. The carcass was been handed over to the AVA on Monday for further investigations.
