Can you spot the cat?
Stuck on a ledge on the eighth storey of Block 357, Tampines Street 33, this white cat was fortunate enough to be spotted by a concerned member of the public. Our Animal Rescue Officer rushed to the scene and got the frightened feline out of danger, bringing it back with him to our shelter. Fortunately, kitty is safe and did not suffer any injuries. How A Dog's Name Is Used

We often use our dog's name in a way that doesn't quite encourage it to respond - we use its name as a verbal reprimand when the dog has misbehaved; we repeat it over and over again, essentially teaching the dog to tune out our nagging voice. If we want to build a quick response and get our dog's undivided attention when we call their name, the dog's name must always be associated with something rewarding.

At 2 years old, this pretty bunny is definitely a charmer! Nugget is as cute as a button, and will definitely melt your heart with her gorgeous looks. Only 5 weeks old, this boy has gone through his share of misfortune. Attacked by another stray dog and found covered with ants, this little puppy came to us in pretty bad shape. We tended to his injury and cleaned him up, but the little boy was too young and needed extra care. We turned to our bighearted fosters, and found a family willing to take him in.

In the lead up to the international World Animal Day, SMU PAW (the group who helped us organize our WAD2013's stage shows and competitions) is holding a cake auction!

We received a call earlier this year in January, asking us to pick up a pet dog for euthanasia. When our Animal Rescue Officer arrived on the scene, he found that the dog had a huge maggot wound on its face. The dog was rushed back to our shelter for treatment and our inspector was alerted. We removed as many of the maggots as we could, and our consultant vet found that the surrounding tissue and bone structures were very badly damaged. Quinn came to us with a horrible skin condition. Found wandering around East Coast Park, Quinn had lost most of her hair and her sensitive raw skin was left exposed. We advertised in the Straits Times and kept a look out for her owner, but they never came.

Our World Animal Day is tomorrow! We'll be at United Square Shopping Mall tomorrow and over the weekend, from 11am to 7.30pm. Our small animals will also be coming with us for the adoption drive! Our adoption drive will also include cats from Cat Welfare Society, rabbits from House Rabbit Society of Singapore and dogs from Causes for Animals Singapore, Animal Lovers League, Humane Society Singapore and Save Our Street Dogs.

Adoption Spotlight: Peanut (left) and Butter (right).
Peanut is a 2-year-old boy who came to our shelter with his friend, Butter, a 2-year-old girl. Both British Shorthairs, Peanut and Butter hang out in our shelter; they're sure getting lots of attention from our volunteers. Butter is the shy girl who takes a while to warm up to people but give her a little time and she'll shower you with purrs.
