Adoption Spotlight: Sticky. Sticky was abandoned at a void deck and came to us in bad shape (http://on.fb.me/OF6X8G). No one came forward to claim her, and she's been with us in our shelter since last November. She may not be a puppy, but this girl is as bright and lively as it gets! About 10 years old, she has a weak lower jaw that results in her not being able to hold her tongue in. She'll do well on a diet of soft food. This darling loves to play and greets our shelter staff happily. Will yo...

A kitten was found in an orange plastic bag on 22 February 2014 (Saturday) at about 10.30am, left at the bottom of a blue Town Council trash bin near lift lobby C of Block 804, Tampines Ave 4. A concerned member of the public who had heard the kitten’s meows managed to locate it in the bin and was able to rescue it. We believe this to be intentional as the plastic bag was found with its handles tied in a knot. We are appealing for any information or witnesses who may be able to help us ident...

Our lovely Tuxedo cat is still waiting for a home (read her story here: http://on.fb.me/1gYMrJj). Her kidneys are not doing better despite treatment. All she wants is a place of her own to live out the rest of her days. We continue to appeal for possible adopters for this sweet girl. Her forever family will have to continue the special diet, and should not have another cat in the household. This beautiful cat may have FIV, but a vigilant pet owner can assist her to live a reasonably long life. ...

Earlier this year, we picked up a kitten that was sealed in a box from a construction site. Frightened, the little guy darted off with lightning speed once we opened the box in our shelter; he was so fast that we didn't even catch a glimpse of him and how he looked like. He left behind a front paw in the box, already severed when he was first found by a member of the public. We kept a look out for him and finally found him in the storm drain outside our shelter the next afternoon. After much he...

Just a day before Chinese New Year, we received a call about a cat stuck in a tree. Our Junior Inspectors (JIs) arrived on the scene and made many attempts to rescue the hapless cat. Unfortunately, we did not have the necessary equipment. The cat was high up in an inverted cone-shaped tree with many branches in the way, preventing us from using our ladders safely. We sought assistance from the AVA, NParks & NEA. Eventually, NParks responded to our call for help. Initial rescue attempts failed as...
