A Most Touching Tabby!
Baby, re-named Tabby, (hopefully) happily ever after!
Tabby, who’s just turned an incredible 13 years wise only yesterday (26 May 2014), was adopted from our shelter 10 years ago in April 2004, by Helen Quah.

Budding Animal Champions from Bukit Panjang Primary School!
We are pleased to have the Cub Scouts of Bukit Panjang Primary School visit us yesterday (May 26, 2014), to participate in an educational talk about what we do at the SPCA. The Scouts also interacted with the animals in our adoption shelter.
Before the visit, they conducted a fruitful pet food donation drive for our animals, and – voila! - what you see in this picture is their haul. Way to go, our young stalwarts!

Dino is a 5-year-wise, richly tri-coloured, male cross-breed, certainly full of promise and luvin’ to give to his adopting family! Dog Bite Prevention Tip #1
A dog seldom bites ‘out of the blue’. It usually starts with the dog communicating its discomfort in being in a particular situation through a display of stress signals, e.g. turning away, lip licking, yawning, shaking off, closing its mouth, stress panting, growling etc. When these signals are repeatedly ignored but we continue to put the dog in that stressful situation, the dog reaches its limit of tolerance, and bites in an attempt to escape or protect itself. ...

ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT: TIGGER THE GINGER!
Tigger is an exceptionally cuddly cutie, with the personality and the smarts to boot!
Tigger was brought in by a member of the public on a Saturday afternoon, months ago. Two SPCA staff members actually fostered him at their homes until he was ready to be put up for adoption.
He’s now more than ready to find his forever home! He’s toilet-trained, loves playing with strings and boxes, and is simply irresistible!

MEET OUR FOSTERED SQUIRRELS, TIC, TAC & TOE!
This oh-so-cutiepie triplet of squirrels (two males & one female) is presently fostered by one of our staff members, Mr Kumar.
Presently about 6 weeks old, they will be weaned and cared for by Mr Kumar, and are in good health.

FOSTERING THE SPIRIT OF FOSTERING, here at SPCA….
SPCA staff do go all out, beyond the call of duty, to help out with the fostering of very young animals.
Introduced to help us save lives, fostering is a way of providing individual attention and accommodation for animals too young to be kept in a shelter (i.e. under 2 months) or animals that need specialized care (requiring medical treatment and/or behavioural rehabilitation).

Yet another cat sitting on the (l)edge!
Our Animal Support Officers received a call just only yesterday, about a cat perched on the 6th floor ledge of a residential block in Bukit Batok.
Our rescue team was quickly despatched to the scene, and found the local grey-black feline, nestled on that narrow ledge reportedly for some time already.

SPCA rescues another distressed cat….
Our Animal Support Officers received a call on Vesak Day about a cat perched on the 9th floor ledge of a residential block along Champions Way.
Our rescue team was quickly despatched to the scene, and found the cat, a local community feline, trapped on that dangerously inclined ledge reportedly since the night before. It may not have budged from its spot, sensing the height and gradient.

Nelly, still named Nelly, happily ever after!
Nelly, a lovely 2-year-wise local tabby, was adopted from our shelter in early March this year, cosying up to the real comforts of a loving home, and huddled in the lap of, among other luxuries, pashmina!

Canine Education, un-leashed at the SPCA!

ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT: BOY, OH BOY!
Boy is a 4-year-wise black, male cross-breed, certainly full of the joys of life! His gleaming black coat and big ears make him look like Anubis, the Egyptian dog god. Meet our resident monitor lizard, affectionately known as Muthu. He comes and goes as he pleases, and is well loved by all our staff and volunteers.

Bamboo, now Zoe, finds love at last!
Bamboo, our 1-year-wise local cat, was adopted from our shelter barely a week ago, cosying up to the real comforts of a loving home.
Life has certainly become rosier for sweet Bamboo, now re-named Zoe, indeed a far cry from her days as a lost, and unloved, kitten.
